As We near the End of the Year

With Christmas and New Year’s around the corner, I find myself reflecting back on the last year.

The selling of our home of nearly twenty years, a move approximately forty miles away from our old home and the office we have for JBA, our rendering company, in Pasadena. A trip this year to Maui that nearly did not go well, a beautiful trip with one of our kids and her children to San Jose in July, during which we got to spend some very precious time with some of our grandchildren.

The general good health that my husband and I are in and so much more.

Especially now that we are coming out of what was the worst bout of Covid for both my husband and myself, you find yourself thinking about what matters. And what matters doesn’t have anything to do with how much we love our new home or the balance in our bank account. What matters is our good health and the memories we make with each other and our children, grandchildren, puppies, friends and clients. Those are the things that help us to continue to feel alive and experience joy.

Every day we have an opportunity to just experience life around us. Something it is too easy to take for granted.

So, as the end of the year draws near and as we go through the last of the holidays for 2022, let’s do all we can to communicate with and be with the people and pets that matter, and let them know how we feel about them. You never know when that loving gesture or salutation might be your last, and I bet I know how we would act if we did know. Let’s take that time now and leave no stone unturned when it comes to sharing life and love. You won’t regret it, I believe I can guarantee it.
