Driving Made Crazy

Driving in to work today I realized once again why there aren’t rocket launchers on vehicles.

As I was approaching Pasadena on the 210 freeway headed west, I encountered a white truck with a shell on the back pulling a U-Haul trailer, you know, with a trailer hitch, suddenly weaving in and out of traffic, at a speed that appeared to exceed eighty miles an hour.

What could go wrong?

It was alarming to say the least as I observed him “darting” in and out of traffic. I wondered, as I passed a Highway Patrol officer, “hadn’t he seen him?”

That’s when the rocket launchers occurred to me. But after much thought, I realize that this would not be a productive use of weaponry and pondered what the solutions might be.

Maybe some sort of “master switch” that could monitor erratic drivers and halt those with the potentiality of causing massive damage to others. A kind of “minority report” system that could foretell police chases, wrong way drivers and erratic behavior while driving.

Otherwise, I fear that we will continue this “chance” encounter program we currently have, which, if you ask me, isn’t really working. One woman’s opinion!
