Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House is a mansion in San Jose, California. Once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearms magnate William Wirt Winchester, this home was being remodeled and added on to thrughout her life as part of an effort to "keep away" the restless spirits of those killed at the hands of the guns her husband's company made. This being the advice given her by her personal spiritalist. Myth or fact? Well, many have seen anomalies of a spiritual nature and she certainy believed the earthquake of 1906 and the damage sustained by the home were signs indicating a warning.

Care to take a tour?There are tours ranging in length from one hour and five minutes to two hours and fifteen minutes. Wear good shoes as there is a lot of stair climbing and surfaces can be uneven.
